Buycott BP – Buy more gas at BP

Boycotting BP will not hurt BP.

“Inspire” BP to use their vast resources to collect funds to pay claims faster.

Making them pay will hurt them.

Make them pay by BP matching the dollars You pay.

WTF?

Since we all know BP sucks has “issues” and they might want to clean up not only birds, but their pathetic reputation, here’s an idea:

People who use oil can help since, well, they use oil and are part of the problem too.

When you buy fuel, most likely at the mom and pop franchise station, BP pays a % of your purchase to the fund.

BP matches donations 1 for 1. [At least 1 for 1]

Make it easy for their fuel station customers to donate funds while getting fuel.

BP pays all expenses for running fund.

3rd Party runs fund. 3rd Party as in no influence from BP besides their funneling of cash into the fund.

Inspiration for this idea is that proceeds are handed out to people who apply for grants due to damage caused by this catastrophe.

Funds are distributed fast, as in within days/weeks not months, to help people whose lives are being destroyed by this.

This idea says:

To help the people in the Gulf who need help now and use BP’s vast resources to get them to help plus get BP to match too. They are after all the 4th largest company in the world. They are certainly good at collecting money. We need to make them good on making this right and spending it fast to help those who’s lives they destroyed.

This idea says:

Boycotting will not work! Yes they do suck- vote with your dollars and help people whose lives are being destroyed. You probably also want to help the people whose lives are being destroyed by this. Don’t you?! You can screw BP and help at the same time. 1 for 1 is not good enough? Great – lets shoot for them to match 5 to 1, 10 to 1, have them offer a choice at the pump.

Boycotting will not work. Look at Exxon and the Valdez! One recent example. They screwed everyone and became the largest company on the planet.

Yes! Why not? Point is – boycott won’t work – make them pay even it’s a PR stunt, like changing their name back to Amoco – just make them pay, and help people on the Gulf who need it. BP should be able to handle collecting money and transfer it since they obviously can’t handle stopping their science experiment in the Gulf.

And seriously?! You use gas and oil – you can’t afford to help someone in need?!

Look – people in the Gulf are going to need a lot of financial assistance fast, and for years. BP easily has the resources to collect money to help them and can also use their vast resources to also collect donations that they will match too.
